The son of two artists well-established in the entertainment industry, Jacob has been surrounded by photography, film and television his entire life. Jacob developed an early interest in fine art and television production before turning his focus to photography, the profession of his father, Richard Hutchings. He studied Fine Art Photography under Stan Strembicki and Joe Deal at Washington University in St. Louis where he received his BFA in 1997. During that period, and in the years that followed, he assisted many professional photographers in St. Louis and New York, furthering his understanding of the art and business of photography. Jacob has photographed in various genres, including portrait, fashion and still life; he is experienced in both studio and location shooting; and he has done extensive spec work for education textbooks and magazines. Through Hutchings Stock Photography he has licensed stock images taken in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. His client list includes Benchmark Education, Consumer Reports and Weekly Reader. In 2002, Jacob moved to the south of France, where he lives with his wife and two children. After years of freelance photography, Jacob has now decided to use his experience and international networks to found Digital Light Source. Aware of the vast resources made available by the Internet he envisions DLS as a place where professional photographers can come together and present their work in a global community. Patrick Neri is Midwest regional manager for Digital Light Source. Before joining DLS, he worked as a photographer for various touring companies in the northwestern United States. Born and raised in Evergreen, Colorado (a small mountain town just outside of Denver), he was exposed early on to the beauty of the natural world, while still in close proximity to a rich cultural center. After studying music and physics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Patrick toured Europe and the Middle East and worked as a professional guide in North and Central America. It was during this period that he first began to explore the art of photography. As a child while growing up in New England, David Franck was first introduced to the wonders of the darkroom by his father, also a photographer. David went on to receive a degree in film studies in college, but the lure of the captured still-image drew him back to his photographic origins. Since returning to the medium, he has worked as a photographer in Boston, New York, and Arizona. David’s earlier photography was shot exclusively in black and white. His focus was more on what could be created with dramatic images, which he would hand-paint and manipulate, creating collages and montages of varied size and theme. Upon his embracement of the digital realm, he focused more on the stark reality of color in its pure existence, rather than the color-manipulated dream-realms of his abstract origins. This new direction, of drawing out the nuance of color and the subtle vibrancy of our surroundings, has enabled him to combine both his passion for photography and travel. David is presently concentrating on vintage and retro Americana. His art has been shown throughout the country and is included in many private collections, as well as distributed nationally through choice galleries and stores. His work has been featured in numerous print publications. He is currently working on a book which documents the disappearing mom-and-pop hotels, diners, and strange tourist attractions which once thrived throughout the American commercial landscape of the mid-twentieth century.
